In the past few days, I took out some of my spring summer clothes that include some Indian clothes :) of course, now that I've started a style blog and discovered YLF, I want to style those differently as well!
Here's my first attempt - a kurta and coloured skinnies. I do wear kurtas with regular skinny jeans and flats, but I've never worn them with coloured bottoms. Does it work?

I think it will totally work. Check out Una's threads; she often wears outfits that follow this formula. Even if the tops are not actual kurtas, they are short and A line and she really carries it off! This looks like a fun spring look for sure.

I'm planning to try out this look soon for a casual Friday at work. Mine are shorter kurtis and hit at the upper thigh and I'll use regular skinnies since I don't own any colored denim (gasp!)

I like this combination! It would also look great with sandals or wedge booties. Really any booties for that matter.

Thanks for the props, Suz! Yes, this works and I do it all the time with both kurtas and Western tunic tops. I also have a pair of knit churidars that I love - my mom got them for me in India, I think you look fantastic. It's one of my favorite looks and can be casual, traditional, or super-edgy depending on the pieces you use!

Una: I have both traditional cotton churidars that you tie at the waist and knit ones too! But jeans seem so much more modern and fun! I'm going to check out and copycat your outfits :D
