WIW and a confession (long-ish)

I wore another version of the stripes+floral pattern mix today with my new shorts. It was the perfect look an evening stroll with hubby and some errands, casual yet 'me'. :-)

The confession is that I am tired of the 30x30 challenge. I will be frank, my summer wardrobe was pretty dismal when I started the challenge and a lot of the stuff that made my list is nos too tight/too worn out. But now that the sales are here, plus some of the pre sale shopping I did, I do have some fun pieces that I want to wear NOW before our short lived summer ends, like these shorts! It would be no biggie had I finished my challenge in June, but because I am no longer going to college, I don't post outfits everyday and the slow pace of the challenge is SO annoying. I want to quit, but I also wonder whether giving up is the loser's way out and if I should just stick with it. What would you do?

    Those shorts are fantastic!

My view is that fashion is supposed to be for fun. You're not training for an event or working on a health issue or a school project. If you're not enjoying yourself. that's a lesson learned already, and you have gained something from the endeavor. So do yourself a favor and be done if you want!

Quit. *This* challenge is not about your 'weak' character, but about having fun.

And since if it stopped being fun, I'd stop worrying and get on - with having fun.

Kirti, I adore the stripes and the floral! Well done.

I always thought the purpose of the 30x30 challenge was to make you appreciate the versatility of your wardrobe. You can stop at any time. You have my permission. :) I have seen your fab new purchases. Just keep mixing them in and no stress!

It's time to ditch the challenge Kirti! It was a great idea at the time, but now things have changed. Some of the items are becoming worn and you have new pretties to debut. And not enjoying your brief summer would be a crime!

(Secretly I have always felt like I have enough challenges with my wardrobe and small pocket book and I don't need to create any more for myself, lol)!

Be free, Kirti, and enjoy your summer!

Kick that challenge to the curb Kirti and have fun with your new items! Life's too short, you know?

    LOVE the floral shorts!

Don't forget fashion should be fun & if the 30 x 30 challenge is no longer fun then stop. In fact I insst you stop I wanna see all the fun new outfits you can make with your recent purchases.

Summer goes by quickly. I say if you're not having fun, let it go and enjoy the full extent of our wardrobe!

Oh, and those shorts are adorable!

Love the shorts! Wear what you like! A challenge should always be fun and if you've already learned what you needed to learn from it, then move on and let's see your new treasures!

Was there more reason to do the challenge than remixing old outfits, Kirti? Were there orphans you needed to figure out how to wear, for instance --- though given your lean, mean wardrobe, I'd doubt it? Or was it a way to prevent yourself from spending on more new clothes? If not, throw away the challenge with the tattered togs and enjoy your new things!

Stripes and floral print = super fun. You look lovely, Kirti! And I agree with the other lasses. Summer is short, and you are not enjoying the challenge anymore, so don't worry about it one bit and wear all your fab Summer stuff now.

  • Kirti replied 11 years ago

Thank you all so much! Now I can give up the challenge without feeling guilty. I am doing most of my summer shopping now, so it's awful not to be able to wear my new pretties! I am so lucky to have supportive friends like you :-)

Manidipa: I took on the challenge just for fun! I am a remixer alread so it wasn't to improve my remixing skills. Nor was it to stop buying. I did learn that a lot of my old summer clothes need replacing though. :-)

I am looking forward to seeing some summer togs in action! Like the stripes and floral shorts Kirti.

  • Kirti replied 11 years ago

    Thanks Christieanne! :-)

Adorable shorts with that striped top. Kick the challenge to the curb and bring on the new pretty things you have purchased.

  • nicoleb replied 11 years ago

Great mix! I agree with the other ladies and if the challenge is no longer fun then just stop. I'm sure nobody minds. I don't participate in a lot of challenges *shrugs*

  • Jaime replied 11 years ago

Agree with all that the challenge is yours to take on and yours to drop when you have had enough for any reason. Plus we will be happy to see your new clothes in action! Great shorts!

  • rae replied 11 years ago

Love it! No need to finish 30x30; you already know you are a remixing pro. Trot out those new outfits while the weather cooperates!

  • Debora replied 11 years ago

Enjoy your summer and your new clothes, Kirti, and forget about the challenge. That's an order! :)

  • CocoLion replied 11 years ago

Oh I just love the stripes and floral thing, well done!

What have you learned from the 30/30 challenge? I am very curious.

  • Angie replied 11 years ago

I love this outfit! It makes me smile :)

And I want you to smile too, Kirti. So what Ornella said. Fashion and style is about having fun. Quit the challenge and make sure each day is filled with stress-free fashion fun.
