WIW that my husband helped with!

I had to go back to the hospital today (got some blood test results that were all okay!) and I was really nervous so I decided to wear lots of colour!

I decided on the pink turtleneck and the red pants and I was testing out scarves when my husband suggested I wear my red skull one. I was thinking of wearing black shoes to bookend, because of my hair and the black skull print, or my loafers but he picked out my oxfords and I think they looked pretty great too, especially since I put my camel trench on top.

I'm really glad that my husband, who cringed when I originally bought home these bright pants, has now gotten so used to my colourful outfits that he is even offering input on them! This is an outfit I'm definitely going to repeat - I may wear it to class next week!

I know it's ALGO, but I would love to know what you guys think. :)

P.S. I added pic #3 just because it's a fun (and goofy) photo - my husband was making me laugh as he clicked :D

For me, your best outfit EVER!!! Those red pants fit you like nobody's business Kirti and I love the playfulness of the scarf. Red and pink is one of Angie's favourite colour combos and it looks so amazing together. And huge KUDOS to hubby for adjusting his eye to colour and being a sweet helper with suggestions!

GORGEOUS!! You were made to wear these beautiful brights, and you are stunning in them. Your hubby is a sweetheart for taking pics and making you laugh and for making space for you to expand your fashion boundaries (and his). He gets the YLF stamp of approval!

How sweet! I love those bright colors on you! You could also throw on a structured blazer on top. That would be pretty too!

Love the third pic, and your husband was spot on when he suggested the red & black skull scarf and the oxfords. You look fab!

Exhilarating use of color! Love to see it on you. It strange, but this outfit is also kind of low contrast, since the colors are so close in depth and intensity. Brava! Glad to hear you received good test results. Glad you're showing the French how to keep color in their chic!

Shannon: And this is the nicest comment EVER! :D Red and pink is one of my favourite combos too, and I really can't believe I didn't wear this outfit before! And yes, I'm so lucky to have him. he's taken my interest in fashion so well :)

Suz: Aww thank you!!! I often tell my husband about YLF and my friends on here, so I'm sure he'd be amused to hear that he is YLF approved now :P

modgrl: Great idea - thanks! I'll try it with my black blazer the next time that I wear it. That way, I can even wear my black shoes.

teri: Thanks! Me too! And I'm so glad my husband gave me the idea, I wouldn't have added in the scarf otherwise.

    Kate: Thanks a lot :)

    jayne: Thank you!!! :D

Beth Ann: Thank you! Now that you mention it, yes these are all equally saturated colours. Maybe that's why they work together?

  • morethanbeige replied 12 years ago

This outfit looks so great on you! I love the color combos. How fun that hubby joined in.

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

It's my favorite outfit on you, too! So cute and stylish and perfect! The scarf and oxfords are the perfect choice to finish it off!

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

Love it Kirti...isn't it amazing how a colorful outfit lifts your spirits? Good for your husband that he's adjusted to your style and even helps you dress...way to be supportive!

Glad your results came back OK.

    love love love, best ever.

i think this is minimalist but bright. only 1 pattern, few accessories. it's the color that makes it sing...and i think it's yodeling "helloooooo"

  • christieanne replied 12 years ago

My day has been blah and boring and grey until I saw you smiling in pink and red :)
Love it so much. And the contribution from DH is brilliant!
Keep rockin the colors - you do it well.

morethanbeige: Thank you! It is always fun to get another person's input :)

Jem: Thank you! It is one of my favourites too :)

Meredith: Thanks! Pink and red is a combo I really love! There are a lot of candid shots every time we take pictures of my outfit, but I never thought to put them up. I will now, once in a while :)

Sunita: It really did make the hospital visit a lot more cheerful! And thank you, I'm so relieved the tests came back negative!

bj1111: Wow thank you :D I like the sound of 'minimalist but bright', I think it is one of the things that I love to try out!

Aww christieanne, so glad I could make someone's day a little brighter! I hope you continue to find lots of cheer everyday :)

You look fabulous! I love the colors, I'm a fan of red and pink together. This outfit may just brighten every mood, I think it's fascinating what wearing colors can do for you and for others. I think if I'd seen you on the street in this outfit I would have smiled big time!

  • Mona replied 12 years ago

love! love! love! I never thought these colours would go so well together. I soooo want to get red jeans after seeing this outfit.

  • Mona replied 12 years ago

i always thought light coloured shoes with dark pants would be leg shortening. but your legs dont look short in these at all. may be all the proportions are playing well

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Astrid: Thank you! :) I do think certain colours have a way of perking people up, for me orange and red are the colours that always make me happy! As for running into you, I'm sure I'd be staring at your gorgeous hair :D

mona: Thanks! And oh, you totally should! Red jeans go with almost EVERYTHING :D

I love your fearless approach to color. And I like the way you wear a fitted silhouette. Your style is sweet bombshell, and I like it!

ETA -- husband has a great style sense. The oxfords are fab with the outfit, and even more fab with a trend on top of it all.
