WIW: yellow pants (and a question)

After yesterday's super colourful outfit, I consciously decided to wear black today. But then I paired it with my yellow pants :P

Speaking of these pants, I noticed just today how freaking visible the pocket lining is. Hubs says it isn't as visible IRL but now that I have seen it, I can't get over it. Any suggestions on how this can be fixed?

If you don't care about using your pockets, just cut it out. Alternatively, depending on how wide across the pocket is, it might be possible to attach it to the side seam and that could pull it tauter against you. Cutting it out is best solution. I prefer to leave them in and just reframe it to "architectural."

I agree with Vildy to cut out the pockets. I just visited your website and really like your style. Just drooling over red silk kurta.

Cutting out the pockets was also my solution. You look adorable in your yellow pants. I have a pair to have shortened to clam diggers at knee length and will be watching for styling ideas.

    Snip away!

I have some I cut out and then "stitched" the opening together with hem tape. Quickie late night fix but they are still holding after many washes.

That yellow and black is really amazing! You are having a terrific week Kirti.

Vildy: I think I will cut them out then! I really can't stand it now that I've noticed :P

mona: Aww thank you! Indian clothes will do that to you sometimes, they are just so beautiful!

Joy: Thanks! I'll do that :)

    Carole: Yes ma'am :D

christieanne: Ha ha ha I'll try that! And thank you! :)

Wow, you look gorgeous in this! Love the yellow with the gold loafers! Sounds like you've got a plan for the pocket linings, too.

Great outfit! I agree with the others, cut out the pockets in front. Or shorten them and sew them so they are very shallow pockets.

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

Yep! They are super cute on you but those pocket liners gotta go. Get out the scissors but be really careful....I once destroyed a pair of pants that way.

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Suz: Thank you! And yes, they've gotta go :D

Denise: I can't really sew :P but I won't do anything in a hurry, let's see what is the best option.

Mer: I'm going to get my husband to do it :P I don't want to ruin these pants!

This outfit is amazing on you Kirti - your yellow pants look brilliant with the gold oxfords. Your style is really progressing girl!

Like already suggested, just cut out the pockets.

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Shannon: Thanks! It is the YLF effect :D and yup, the pockets are getting cut off today!

  • Jjsloane replied 12 years ago

Very cute outfit. Please repost once you've cut out the pockets.

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

    Jjsloane: Thanks! Will do :)

I was going to say you should cut the pockets out, but there's no need to add to the chorus! So I'll just say that those pants are fantastic and you should do what you need to do to feel comfortable in them. The color and the fit are fabulous on you!
