WIW: neutrals!

It's too bad I missed out on neutrals week, because I'm wearing an all neutral outfit today!

Looking forward to your feedback as always - I really appreciate your honest comments and suggestions :)

This is a great neutral outffit! We'll give you points towards the neutrals challenge. ;)
I love the way you fearlessly mix patterns. That looks like a soft cozy sweater and eye-catching scarf. Nice!

You look cute and cozy as well as stylish. The scarf really adds something to the outfit.

Claire: I'm so glad, now I am part of the neutrals gang too ;) I feel funny doing neutrals and not spicing it up in some way, hence the pattern mixing - so glad you like it :)

    Joy: Thank you! :)

Love the patterned sweater and patterned scarf mix! I wish I could do it that well!! Your outfit looks perfect for a cozy winter weekend, which we're definitely having here in New England.

You look beautiful Kirti! Love the pattern mixing too. Awesome!

Thank you Debby! And yes, it is freezing here as well!

    Meredith: Thank you :)

This is a perfect casual look Kirti - you've got nice pattern mixing going on and your proportions are spot on. I also love how you tuck your skinnies into booties and it works fabulously!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Thanks Shannon! It is only after joining YLF that I've become mindful of proportions and it really makes a difference!

Kirti -- You are such a beautiful young woman! I like the sweater, scarf and jeans but to be perfectly honest I am not a fan of tucking skinnys into short boots as I think it truncates the leg line. I would prefer tall boots in grey or brown. Or (narrow ankle) booties with the jeans pulled over them. :-)

However my observations seem to be in the minority. :-)

Cocolion: I really appreciate your honesty :) these boots aren't too great for wearing under pants and I don't own any other boots, so these will have to do for now, I guess. I will keep your advice in mind the next time I'm boot shopping (next autumn)! Thanks :)

Kirti, I appreciate you being a good sport about my honest feedback. Sometimes I wonder what the best thing is to do. And it's so hard when you only have typewritten words to convey thoughts, not expressions or tones.

Anyway, there are a lot of narrow ankle booties/shoeties like this on sale right now, (enabling you, he he). Or you can wait until next season when you have fresh styles.

Cocolion: I know! It is so easy to get misunderstood on the internet as opposed to talking to someone face to face! I don't have a budget for shoes at the moment, I recently bought my black heeled oxfords and my Clarks oxfords... so now I'm going to save for spring/summer sandals and wait it out for boots :)

This is an adorable look. I'm going to make an out-there suggestion per Cocolion's comment - what if you cuff the skinnies to just above the top of the booties?

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Una: I will try that the next time I wear them :) Thanks!
