I went shoppingggggggg :D

I didn't actually plan to buy anything since I was supposed to be waiting for the returns from my 2 disastrous blazer purchases before I bought anything. But hubs and I went to the thrift store to drop off some stuff and of course, I picked up some stuff 'just to try on'!

I ended up buying a striped cotton blazer for €5! The brand is Sinequanone, which is a brand that I only shop during the final markdown at sale season - it is that expensive! None of their blazers are below €90, so this is really a steal. What do you think of it? I know the sleeves have to be hemmed and of course, it refuses to button up without a lot of pulling, but I really like the fit and so does hubs :)

I was pretty happy after this purchase but then we stopped by the shoe store and picked up my two toned oxfords too! Wheee :D

I've spent all my budget for March now, but I couldn't be happier with all the stuff I've bought! :)

The fit on that jacket is absolutely great to my eye! The only thing I am a bit unsure on is the color (you look really good in bright, bold colors, so I hesitate with the soft neutral) but I think with the spring/summer coming up this color would be useful and you can pair it with bright tops. And for that price, it's a steal! Very cool oxfords, too.

Makrame: Yay thanks! I will definitely pair it with brights - I don't usually do softer colours either, so this is a change for me too! :) and thanks, I've had my eyes on the two toned trend for a while, it is nice to finally get my hands on a pair!

The shoes are adorable - menswear but still a nice feminine cut so not too heavy looking - hope that makes sense.
Great deal on the jacket! I can see you popping that with some color :)

The fit of the blazer looks great! I love how you wear bright colors, but I like this soft neutral too. I think it will work well paired with a bright top. Love your Oxfords too!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

christieanne: I know exactly what you mean! My other oxfords are chunkier and much more 'masculine looking' so I like the dainty look of these too :) and thanks, I am looking forward to pairing the jacket with brights!

Astrid: Yay I'm so glad! After struggling so much with blazers, I finally found one! And thanks, I am in love with them :)

It's the luck of the Irish! (Irish or not today)
I love the color of the blazer, it will go with so much more as a neutral and can be a real work-horse for you. Great shoes too.

Super-duper cute! Love the blazer and the shoes!!!

  • gradfashionista replied 12 years ago

Very smart outfit--the shoes look like they'd pair up well with a skirt. Love the vibrancy of the pants--either pale shirts or bold-coloured tops (blues and purples) would work really well.

Awesome luck! Now that's worth a pot of gold *and* a rainbow! Indeed, it makes me muse how a pair of green pants would fit so well between that blazer and those oxfords ... :-) But your cheery red ones will be great too!

  • rae replied 12 years ago

Yay! So happy for your scores after the recent frustration - love the oxfords!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

tracina: Ooh I didn't even think of that :D yes, it is a real stroke of luck since I've been getting super frustrated with jackets off late! And thanks, I'm hoping to get a lot of use out of both :)

    Alicat: Whee! Thanks :D

dissertante: I actually wore this outfit with a different topper today, but glad to know the blazer looks good with the black-yellow combo too :) I'd love to try blue with these pants - thanks for the idea!

Manidipa: Ooh they would! Oh no, now I want a pair of kelly green pants! :P

rae: Thanks! I really did get disheartened over the blazer fit fiasco and now, look at this! And for just €5 :D

Yay Kirti! I'm so glad you bought those oxfords. And this jacket is just amazing on you. The fit in the shoulders is just perfect and it looks expensive--great find! It will be a great "summer white" for you. You probably won't ever need to button it and if you want to save some money, just roll the sleeves and scrunch away! I'd say you made VERY good use of your March clothing budget!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Claire: Whee! I'm so glad that you like it! Yes, I'm planning to roll and scrunch for now, since I have no money left for alteration :P I will get them altered at some point though.

  • kellygirl replied 12 years ago

Great haul! Love the fit and style of the jacket on you! You look amazing : )

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

Wheee!!! I LOVE that blazer! I want one just like it. It looks cute with the yellow pants and those oxfords are to die for! Pop a bright scarf on and you are good to go! Awesome find!!!

Great find! It's amazing what turns up in thrift shops sometimes.

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

kellygirl: Thank you! I've struggled with blazers a lot, so I'm really glad you like the fit and style :)

Meredith: Yay thanks :D I'm so glad you approve! And yes, I will definitely be adding in some coloured/printed scarves Meredith style :)

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Sara L: Yep! I love thrift shopping :D

  • Jem replied 12 years ago

I LOVE your blazer! It fits you perfectly and I love the stripes! Weren't you just having trouble with blazer's fitting? Wow, not this one. See...the other ones were the blazer's problem, not you. :-) This one is amazing! Also, your shoes are amazing! I'm definitely jealous of your purchases today!

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Jem: Yes I was! And I agree, all the other blazers were losers :P I'm lucky that I found this one. Thanks so much :)
