New denim jacket!

While I was still mulling over whether to buy the two toned oxfords, my husband and I walked into Benetton where we found denim jackets in a plethora of springy colours - red, green, marigold and bubblegum pink! I tried them all on, without the intention of buying anything, but my husband loved the red so much, he bought it for me on the spot!

The sleeves as always are a tad long, but I like the casual rolled sleeves look on a denim jacket so I don't mind. I like everything else about it. :)

I'm really happy with this purchase, since this fulfills the jackets I wanted for spring - a patterned one (the blazer I thrifted) and a coloured one (this jacket).

Sorry for the rumpled photos - we're shifting and just walked home with a lot of heavy cartons.

ETA: This is not styled, I just threw the jacket over what I was wearing. But now that I look at it, it isn't too bad :P

This could have been too much color, but the similar tones work together. Great job with color mixing.

Cute! (and what a nice husband!) You can really pull off those bright colors. They look really pretty on you!

That's a lovely jacket, and FAB with the yellow pants! I love shopping serendipity :-) (And sounds like your husband's gotten all the way on board with your colourful style, which too is a milestone moment.)

bj1111: You think so? Yay! :D I actually didn't wear this outside, but if this isn't TOO much colour, I'd love to wear it to university next week!

Jem: He really is! And thank you :)

Manidipa: My husband has gotten used to it for sure, but the pairing of yellow and red is too much for him :P even as he was taking these pictures, he was cringing :P

Give him a few months on the color blocking and he'll be on board :) He seems to have an eye for what you love and what looks great on you. Nice choice on the jacket - fit is spot on.

Could you wear that with the grey cord skirt for your interview?

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Christieanne: He really does. Some of my favourite wardrobe pieces (like my leather jacket) have been picked by him. I don't know if a denim jacket would be too casual?

You look great! Very nice fit and color!

I feel like I am channeling you - first your post about oxfords, now the jacket - I have two red denim jackets waiting to be returned (or not). The fit is not as nice as yours but I liked the idea of having a bright, lightweight denim topper. I bet you'll have a lot of use for this jacket, I see it working with a lot of items in your wardrobe (and quite frankly, the yellow/blue/red combo looks quite harmonious to my eye).

Makrame: I hear you - it seems like it would be a versatile piece and work with the existing colours I own! And thanks, I will definitely wear this outfit to class next week :D

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

kellygirl: Thanks! I'm sure I will wear it till everyone is sick of it :P

Yummy! So perfect for you. Amazing color. Good fit! And how nice that your DH saw how it suited you and bought it! Look forward to seeing it in future pics. You bring a little sunshine to my rainy Chicago day!

Beth Ann: Aww that is such a great compliment :)

    Thanks Jonesy! :)

Great jacket Kirti! I'd fold the cuff back just once then push 'em up :)

(OK now I want to check if the Benetton by me has these!)

  • Meredith1953 replied 12 years ago

I love that jacket on you! Red is just gorgeous on you and I think you styled it beautifully! Hubs will get used to the color once he sees a "sea" of it.....

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Thanks Meredith! I'm so kicked you guys like this super colourful outfit! I will wear it to college next week :D

You look so cute, and your husband is a keeper! That color is superb on you.

Does shifting mean that you're moving to a new home?

  • replied 12 years ago

@Alicat: I was wondering the same thing!

Kirti, does shifting mean moving house? Love the jacket, and you must wear it like this! Three primary colors of equal intensity=pure fabulosity!

  • Scarlet replied 12 years ago

Really cute! I love how you do bright colors.

  • fashionista replied 12 years ago

The jacket is so cute and so springy after all those winter blacks and grey. Loved it on you.

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Alicat: Thanks! And yes :P shifting = moving house!

Claire: Yep, we're moving! :D and thanks, I will definitely wear this next week. I'm actually not one to be hesitant to wear colour, but my husband immediately said this was 'too much' so I had my doubts!

    Thanks Scarlet and fashionista :)

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Aida: Thanks for the idea! I'll try that the next time I wear it :)

  • Angie replied 12 years ago

    LOVE it.

  • Laurinda replied 12 years ago

Love love LOVE the happy colors of #3 !

  • Kirti replied 12 years ago

Wow thanks Angie! I'll be sure to tell my husband that the jacket he picked is Angie approved :D

    Thank you Laurinda :)
